Casey Affleck is attached to star while Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are set to produce the true story drama “Race to the South Pole” for Warner Bros. Pictures and Pearl Street says The Hollywood Reporter.
The film will deal with the famed rivalry and race to the pole undertook by Scott and Amundsen in the early 1900’s. British explorer Robert Falcon Scott (Affleck) and Norwegian Roald Amundsen set out on rival expeditions arriving on the icy continent within days of each other.
Amundsen’s expedition got their first and returned with no casualties, Scott’s expedition was an infamous disaster and no-one returned alive including Scott himself.
Peter Glanz is penning the script while Jennifer Todd will also produce.
