Breakout “True Blood” blond hunk Alexander Skarsgard is being lined up to star in and produce the Viking-themed epic “The Vanguard” at Warner Bros. Pictures and Atlas Entertainment reports Variety.
Chris Boal will pen the script which follows two Viking warrior brothers who toil to return to Sweden after being banished to North America. The tone is said to be akin to “Gladiator” and “Braveheart”.
Charles Roven and Richard Suckle will produce. Skarsgard appears in the upcoming “Straw Dogs” remake, Lars von Trier’s “Melancholia” and Peter Berg’s action tentpole “Battleship”.
