Sony Pictures has announced a release date of May 2nd 2014 for a sequel to “The Amazing Spider-Man” despite the first one still a year away from release on July 3rd 2012.
It’s unknown if any deals are in place yet for cast and crew members to return, but many are likely signed overall deals for at least one sequel.
A studio source tells EW that “It speaks volumes about our confidence in what we are seeing on the new film and our desire to move quickly on the next installment.”
