Black Friday is almost upon us with sales galore. In the run-up, Amazon.com has begun offering DVD and Blu-ray deals each day, below are the big bargains I’ve found thus far. With these things, it’s all about clearing stock so grab what you want while you can at these prices.

In terms of personal recommendations for titles and bargains below:
WEDNESDAY 11/21 BLU-RAY PICKS:
The just released, fifteen film ‘The Alfred Hitchcock Collection’ Blu-ray set has dropped to just $ 150 for today, Amazon had previously been selling it for around $ 220 and the lowest previous price I found anywhere for it was Costco at about $ 170. Also hot, the beautifully restored “The Godfather Collection” gives you the entire trilogy for just $ 20. The limited edition, feature packed gift set for “The Sound of Music” has also dropped to just $ 20. The just released “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” has dropped to $ 13 already.
On the TV front the likes of “Bones, “Glee,” and HBO’s “Rome” have dropped to $ 17-$ 18 a season, comedy fave “The League” is now out for $ 8 a season, and the big-budget mini-series “The Pacific” is just $ 35.
TUESDAY 11/20 BLU-RAY PICKS:
Last season’s “Fringe” and “Supernatural” have dropped considerably to $ 17 each, while Matt Smith’s first year as “Doctor Who” is down to $ 23 (it usually sells on Amazon for double that).
MONDAY 11/19 BLU-RAY PICKS:
With films there’s very good cuts on the Blu-rays of “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” “Thor,” and “Titanic 3D.” On DVD there’s the likes of “Cabin in the Woods,” “Drive” and “Safe” at $ 6 a pop.
With shows on Blu-ray there’s great deals for “Archer,” “Homeland,” “Justified,” “The Office,” “Spartacus,” “True Blood,” and “Walking Dead.” With shows on DVD there’s very good deals for “Burn Notice,” “Chuck,” “House,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Prison Break” and “White Collar.”

The Alien Anthology, the Coen Bros. collection and The Godfather trilogy at $ 20 each; “Breaking Bad” at $ 12 a season.
