It has been a wild week of movie news and rumors, but the outright strangest has now emerged.
Warners is reportedly happy enough with Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming sci-fi epic “Pacific Rim” that they and the filmmaker could be coming together again for a film involving a team-up of DC Comics characters.
“Justice League”? Nothing that simple. Latino Review reports that the project will entitled “Heaven Sent” and will see the various magical beings from the DC Comics universe coming together “The Avengers” style.
This will include a bunch of second and third-tier characters including the likes of Deadman, The Spectre, Swamp Thing, John Constantine, Phantom Stranger, Zatanna, Zatara, Sargon and Etrigan the Demon. That’s essentially the same cast of characters seen in two issues of Alan Moore’s “Swamp Thing” comic.
To do it though, there’s a few legal rights issues that have to be sorted out. del Toro’s schedule is also packed with films, most of which will either not come to fruition or that he will have to ultimately pass on. Thus there’s no guarantee this will happen or, even if it does, when it would happen.
