“Argo” Wins The Producers Guild Award

Since Ben Affleck was shut out of a Best Director nomination at the Oscars, the awards tide has seemed to turn away from “Lincoln” and back towards the earliest front runner “Argo” with both Affleck and the film itself picking up numerous awards since.

This weekend though it nabbed one of the biggest – the top feature film honor, the Darryl F. Zanuck Award, at the 24th Annual Producers Guild of America Awards.

Since the awards began, 16 of the 22 PGA winners went on to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. In fact, it has picked the winner correctly every year since 2008’s “No Country For Old Men.”

In other categories, “Wreck-It Ralph” won for best animated feature, while “Searching for Sugar Man” took best documentary.

On the TV side, “Homeland” won best drama series, “Modern Family” best comedy series, and “Game Change” best TV Movie/Mini-Series.
