“Argo” Wins The Top SAG Award

The ball continues rolling the way of “Argo” as the Ben Affleck-directed drama scored the top honor at the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards just a few minutes ago.

“Argo” scored Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, beating out “Lincoln,” “Les Miserables,” “Silver Linings Playbook” and “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.”

“Lincoln” took Best Actor and Supporting Actor for the work of Daniel Day-Lewis & Tommy Lee Jones. Jennifer Lawrence scored Best Actress for “Silver Linings Playbook” while Anne Hathaway took Best Supporting Actress for “Les Miserables”.

On the TV front, “Downton Abbey” and “Modern Family” won the outstanding ensemble cast awards in drama and comedy respectively.

Individual honours went to Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad”), Alec Baldwin (“30 Rock”), Kevin Costner (“Hatfields and McCoys”), Claire Danes (“Homeland”), Tina Fey (“30 Rock”) and Julianne Moore (“Game Change”).

“Skyfall” took “Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble” in the film category, “Game of Thrones” won the same award in the TV category.
