Mike Medavoy and Doug McKay are set to produce a film adaptation of classic sci-fi writer Ray Bradbury’s 1957 semi-autobiographical work “Dandelion Wine” for Medavoy’s Phoenix Pictures says the trades.
Set in 1928, the series of short stories is connected to a 12-year-old boy named Douglas Spaulding as he experiences an unforgettable summer in a small town in Illinois.
Though less outright fantasy or sci-fi than other works of his including “The Martian Chronicles” and “The Illustrated Man”, there’s still a touch of unreality to it despite its much more personal approach.
Bradbury penned this book between writing two of his most famous works – “Fahrenheit 451” and “Something Wicked This Way Comes”.
Rodion Nahapetov (“Contamination”) will pen the screenplay.
