STV Productions, Digital Rights Group, Nine/8 Entertainment and Creative Media are all teaming to develop “Wallace”, a historical dramatic television series based on the life of Scottish legend William Wallace reports The Live Feed.
Said to be akin to recent cable series hits like Starz’s “Spartacus” and HBO’s “Game of Thrones”, the project focuses on Wallace’s years spent attempting to unify Scotland, his loves and losses as well as his legendary battles with King Edward the Longshank and rival Robert the Bruce.
Mick Davis (“The Eleventh Hour”) will write, create and executive produce the show based on an original idea from Kent Dalian and Seoras Wallace, an advisor on Mel Gibson’s Oscar-winning 1995 biopic of Wallace – “Braveheart”.
