Brolin Replaces Owen In “Sin City 2”

Josh Brolin has joined the cast of Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez’s “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” at Dimension Films.

Brolin will play Dwight, the same character played by Clive Owen in the 2005 original. This marks the third such re-casting of a role from the first film. The others being Dennis Haysbert replacing the late Michael Clarke Duncan, and Jamie Chung replacing Devon Aoki.

In ‘Dame,’ Dwight is hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord, and then watches his life go straight to hell. His storyline is set prior to the events in 2005’s “Sin City” and will explain how Dwight came to have a dramatically different face.

Brolin is the third new name to join the cast this week following the additions of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Christopher Meloni. The project is currently in production ahead of a release in October.
