Cage, Cusack Consider “Frozen Ground”

Nicolas Cage and John Cusack are in talks to headline the $ 27 million thriller “The Frozen Ground” for Emmett Furla Films and Amber Entertainment says Variety.

The story centers on the investigation of Robert Hansen (Cusack), a respected family man who systematically abducted some two dozen women and flew them into the Alaskan wilderness where he released and then hunted them.

Cage would play the Alaska State Trooper who cracked the case after finding one of Hansen’s victims alive on the street. Hansen was arrested in 1983 and is currently serving a 461 year sentence in prison.

Randall Emmett, George Furla, Mark Ordesky and Jane Fleming are producing. Scott Walker will make his feature directorial debut from his own script with filming to begin October 10th in Anchorage, Alaska.
