‘Carter’ Helmer Directs “Game Stands Tall”

“Coach Carter” and “Save the Last Dance” helmer Thomas Carter is set to direct the $ 20 million true story tale “When the Game Stands Tall” at Mandalay says The Hollywood Reporter.

The film is based on the inspirational true story of high school coach Bob Ladouceur, who led his perennial losing California football team, the De La Salle Spartans, to twelve consecutive undefeated seasons from 1992 to 2004 and a streak of 138 straight victories.

Scott Marshall Smith (“The Score”) is adapting the screenplay, while Cathy Schulman and David Zelon are producing. Shooting aims to kick off in September with a cast of relative unknowns.
