Gangster Squad
“The Killing” actress Mireille Enos is reportedly the latest to join the cast of Ruben Fleischer’s 1940’s-set ensemble drama “Gangster Squad” about an off the books team of LAPD cops coming together to take down a gangster (Sean Penn).
Enos is in talks to play Connie O’Mara, Josh Brolin’s pregnant wife in the film who assists her husband in assembling the titular squad. The actress is currently playing Brad Pitt’s wife in the adaptation of “World War Z”. [Source: Variety]
I, Alex Cross
“Scrubs” regular John C. McGinley has joined the cast of “I, Alex Cross”, the Rob Cohen-directed film reboot of the character from the James Patterson novels which Tyler Perry will play.
McGinley will play Chief of Police Richard Brookwell and boss of forensic psychologist Cross whom is tracking down a serial killer (Matthew Fox). [Source: Showblitz]
R.I.P.D.
“Dinner for Schmucks” star Stephanie Szostak is set to play the living wife of Ryan Reynolds’ deceased police officer character in the upcoming adaptation of the comic series “R.I.P.D.”
After being murdered on duty, Reynolds’ character is recruited to the Rest in Peace department. Szostak’s character can still sense her dead husband’s presence as he continues to search for the man who murdered him. [Source: Digital Spy]
