Casting: McConaughey, Howard, Bey, Shue

The Wolf Of Wall Street
Matthew McConaughey is the latest to join Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf Of Wall Street” about the rise and fall of stockbroker Jordan Belfort (Leonardo Di Caprio)

McConaughey has signed up to play the early boss and mentor to Belfort. Shooting kicks off this month in New York. [Source: The AP]

A Girl and a Gun
Terrence Howard has signed on for Filip Jan Rymsza’s modern L.A. thriller “A Girl and a Gun”. Juno Temple, Luis Guzman and Christopher Walken also star.

Howard will play the lead of Ian, a hustler with big Hollywood dreams who’s going nowhere fast until he intervenes in a mugging and get pulled in to a world of intrigue. [Source: Deadline]

Can A Song Save Your Life?
Yasiin Bey (aka. Mos Def) has joined the cast of John Carney’s music-themed drama “Can A Song Save Your Life?” at Exclusive Media and Likely Story.

Keira Knightley plays a woman who moves to New York to pursue her singing dreams. She meets a down-on-his-luck record producer (Mark Ruffalo) finds her singing in a local bar. Bey portrays Ruffalo’s longtime business partner in the recording industry. [Source: THR]

Parental Guidance Suggested
Elisabeth Shue is in negotiations to join the cast of Tim Garrick’s indie teen comedy “Parental Guidance Suggested”. Shue will play one of the teen’s mothers in the movie.

Based on Ric Browde’s novel “While I’m Dead … Feed The Dog”, the story follows a young man (Nat Wolff) and woman (Selena Gomez) on a rock’n’roll whirlwind. Garrick wrote the adaptation. [Source: Deadline]
