Casting News: Jean-Baptiste, Lee, Spall

Robocop
Marianne Jean-Baptiste (“Spy Game,” “Without A Trace”) is set to play Karen Dean, the Detroit Chief of Police, in Jose Padilha’s remake of “Robocop” for MGM.

Joel Kinnaman, Hugh Laurie, Samuel L. Jackson and Gary Oldman also star in the film which begins shooting in Toronto next month. [Source: ]

White Rabbit
Ryan Lee (“Super 8”) will join Nick Krause (“The Descendants”) in Tim McCann’s indie teen drama “White Rabbit”. Lee will play Krause’s best friend while Sam Trammell also stars as Krause’s father.

Anthony Di Pietro penned the script about a high school teen (Krause) who begins having visions of a rabbit that he killed when he was a young boy. The rabbit, along with other imaginary characters, turn menacing in the hopes of pushing him over the edge. [Source: Chicago Tribune]

The F Word
Rafe Spall, Megan Park and Mackenzie Davis have joined the cast of Michael Dowse’s rom-com “The F Word”. Shooting kicks off this month in Toronto and Dublin.

Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan will play two young people who meet at a party and find themselves attracted to one another, but try to stay just friends as she has a long-term boyfriend (Spall). [Source: The AP]
