Casting News: Knightley, Oldman, Martinez

Akira
Keira Knightley has joined the list of actors being offered roles in Jaume Collet-Sera’s live-action remake of “Akira” at Warner Bros. Pictures.

Garrett Hedlund is in negotiations to play Kaneda while Helena Bonham Carter and Gary Oldman are also said to have been offered parts. [Source: Heat Vision]

Arthur and Lancelot
Gary Oldman is apparently being courted to star in David Dobkin’s “Arthur and Lancelot” at Warner Bros. Pictures.

Oldman is wanted for the role of Merlin. He’ll star opposite Joel Kinnaman as Lancelot, while the role of Arthur is currently being screen tested. [Source: The Press Association]

Broken City
Natalie Martinez and Alona Tal have scored the two female lead roles in Allen Hughes’ “Broken City” for New Regency and Emmett/Furla.

Brian Tucker’s script centers on a cop-turned-private-investigator (Mark Wahlberg) who, in an attempt to turn his life around, is thrust into a murder investigation amid a mayoral candidate (Russell Crowe) involved in a corrupt election.

Tal would play Wahlberg’s assistant; Martinez will play his girlfriend. Catherine Zeta Jones also stars. [Source: Variety]
