Casting: Pettyfer, Gigandet, Helms, Corden

The Butler
Alex Pettyfer has joined and talks are underway with Vanessa Redgrave to join “Precious” director Lee Daniels’ “The Butler”.

Pettyfer would play the role of Thomas Westphall, a pivotal influence in the life of Forest Whitaker’s central character. Filming begins mid-July in New Orleans. [Source: Deadline)

Plush
Cam Gigandet is joining Emily Browning in Catherine Hardwicke’s thriller “Plush.” Hardwicke will produce, direct and co-write.

Gigandet plays a psychic psychologist who delves into the minds of patients and sees their memories in order to help them unleash past demons. He meets his match in Browning’s character, who shares his gift. [Source: Variety)

They Came Together
Ed Helms will star in David Wain’s “They Came Together” at Lionsgate. Helms is playing Eggbert, which is Amy Poehler’s character’s love interest and accountant.

Helms will also do a cameo in Rawson Thurber’s “We’re The Millers” at New Line. Helms would play the boss of Jason Sudeikis’ character who may be hiding something nefarious and shady. [Source: Deadline]

They Came Together
James Corden has signed on to join the John Carney-directed “Can A Song Save Your Life” as the best friend of Keira Knightley’s character.

Corden is also set to star as opera singer and talent show star Paul Potts in “One Chance” for The Weinstein Company. [Source: Deadline]
