Casting: Routh, Favreau, Baruchel, McPartlin

McCanick
Brandon Routh, David Morse and “Glee” actor Cory Monteith are set to star in Josh C. Waller’s 70’s retro cop action drama “McCanick” at Bleiberg Entertainment.

Morse plays a narcotics detective (and Routh his partner) who learns that a seemingly harmless young criminal (Monteith) has been released from prison, a crime who holds the secret to a truth from the detective’s past. [Source: Variety]

The Wolf of Wall Street
Jon Favreau is set to play a securities lawyer in Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street” starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Favreau will shoot his role before going on to direct the film adaptation of Broadway hit musical “Jersey Boys”. [Source: Deadline]

Robocop
Jay Baruchel is close to a deal to join the cast of Jose Padilha’s remake of classic 80’s sci-fi actioneer “Robocop” at MGM and Sony. Shooting kicks of in September in Toronto.

Baruchel will play the head of marketing for Omnicorp, the company that is building the police cyborg which Joel Kinnaman will play. [Source: Heat Vision]

Mr. Christmas
Ryan McPartlin (“Chuck”) is set to star in both “Mr. Christmas” and “Sex and Sunsets.” In the former he’ll play a male mannequin come to life whose plastic core makes it difficult to woo his human crush.

In ‘Sunsets’ he’ll play a consummate charmer who clashes horns with struggling writer (Ryan Kwanten) makes overtures toward his fiance. [Source: Variety]
