Casting: Waltz, Paul, Schwartzman, Thomas

Reykjavik
Christoph Waltz has scored the role of Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev opposite Michael Douglas as Ronald Reagan in Mike Newell‘s “Reykjavik”.

The story is set in 1986 during the time Reagan and Gorbachev went to the Icelandic capital to work out a peace deal that essentially ended the Cold War. Shooting kicks off in March in both Iceland and Germany. [Source: Variety]

Need for Speed
“Breaking Bad” star Aaron Paul has signed on to Scott Waugh’s “Need For Speed” at Dreamworks. No word on what kind of role he will play.

The film’s story is said to be based on numerous entries popular videogame series. A February 7th 2014 release is already set. [Source: EW]

Grand Budapest Hotel
Jason Schwartzman will reunite with his “Rushmore” and “Moonrise Kingdom” director Wes Anderson on the filmmaker’s next project “Grand Budapest Hotel”.

The European-set film will also include Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Ralph Fiennes and Jude Law. [Source: Movies.com]

Suite Francaise
Kristin Scott Thomas will play the domineering mother-in-law to Michelle Williams spirited French woman in Saul Dibb’s WWII romantic drama “Suite Francaise”.

Williams character is wife to a husband off to war who falls for a German composer turned officer stationed at their estate. [Source: Screen Daily]
