South Korean filmmaker and “Oldboy” director Chan-wook Park is in talks to direct Craig Zahler’s thriller script “The Brigands of Rattleborge” for Red Granite Pictures and Mythology Entertainment says Variety.
The story follows a sheriff and a doctor who seek revenge against a group of bandits who use the cover of a torrential thunderstorm to rob and terrorize the occupants of a small town.
Zahler’s script made the 2006 Black List of best unproduced screenplays but the violent content is extreme enough that the project has been languishing for several years.
Bradley Fischer, Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland will produce.
