Cusack, Knoxville Go To A “Carnival”

John Cusack and Johnny Knoxville are teaming for Josh Stern’s comedy “Carnaval” at Stone Village says The Hollywood Reporter.

Cusack will play a sports scout sent to Rio de Janeiro during Carnaval to recruit the world’s best soccer player. The hook? If he signs the star, he will inherit the agency.

Knoxville plays his best friend, a musician who tags along and has an affair with a woman who turns out to be the player’s girlfriend.

David Styne penned the initial script which Stern has re-written. Styne, Scott Steindorff, Dylan Russell and Scott LaStaiti are producing. Shooting kicks off in Rio this January.
