British actor Hugh Dancy (“Martha Marcy May Marlene,” “Hysteria”) has scored the leading role of FBI Agent Will Graham in NBC’s Hannibal Lecter prequel series reports TV Line.
“Pushing Daisies” creator Bryan Fuller is producing the series which is skipping the pilot stage and is going to direct to series with an order for 13 episodes already received.
Expanding upon the early events alluded to in Thomas Harris’ novel “Red Dragon”, the story will be set in Lecter’s early days and the time he went head-to-head with Will Graham. The time period however will be shifted to the modern day.
William Petersen and Edward Norton have previously played the character in Michael Mann’s “Manhunter” and Brett Ratner’s “Red Dragon” respectively. Still to be cast though – the all important role of Dr. Lecter himself.
