HBO has optioned the rights to Corinne May Botz’s 2004 thriller novel “Nutshell Studies” with Guillermo del Toro onboard as executive producer says The Hollywood Reporter.
The Hitchcockian-style true story tale follows a small-town housewife who becomes obsessed with solving brutal crimes and founded the Department of Legal Medicine at Harvard in 1936. She was later appointed captain in the New Hampshire police.
Del Toro will also direct the project while Sara Gran (“Southland”) will write and co-executive produce. Gary Unge also serves as executive producer.
