Oscar-winning “Juno” and “Jennifer’s Body” writer Diablo Cody has come onboard to do script revisions on the new “Evil Dead” which is now confirmed to be a remake.
Ghost House Pictures has issued an official press release confirming that the project is happening and that Federico Alvarez is set to direct as had been previously reported. Alvarez wrote the script with Rodolfo Sayagues and now Cody is making adjustments to it.
Sam Raimi, Robert G. Tapert and Bruce Campbell will serve as producers. The trio said in an official statement “We are committed to making this movie and are inspired by the enduring popularity and enthusiasm for The Evil Dead series. We can’t wait to scare a new generation of moviegoers using filmmaking techniques that were not available to us thirty years ago as well as Federico Alvarez bringing a fresh eye to the film’s original elements.”
