The Christmas special of “Doctor Who” is scheduled to air Christmas Day in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Now, both a new promo trailer and a special prequel minisode have gone up for the special which which will be entitled “The Snowmen”.
The upcoming episode introduces Jenna-Louise Coleman as the Doctor’s new companion Clara, and brings back three of the characters from the sixth season episode “A Good Man Goes to War” including Silurian Madame Vastra, her companion Jenny, and the Sontaran nurse Commander Strax. Richard E. Grant also guest stars as the villain of the episode – Doctor Simeon.
The prequel minisode below bridges the mid-season finale and this Christmas special, showcasing a Doctor who has now withdrawn from the world and is tired and heartbroken following the loss of the Ponds.
