Fassbender Join’s Portman’s Western “Jane”

“Shame” and “X-Men” star Michael Fassbender is in negotiations to join “We Need to Talk About Kevin” director Lynne Ramsay’s new sub-$ 20 million indie western “Jane Got a Gun” at handsomecharlie and Scott Pictures says Vulture.

Natalie Portman, who is also producing, plays a woman married to an outlaw who returns home bullet-riddled and half-dead, betrayed by criminal confederates hot on his heels.

Fassbender would play Portman’s ex-lover. She seeks out his help to defend her farm from the imminent onslaught of black hats.

Brian Duffield penned the script which made last year’s annual Black List of best unproduced screenplays. ‘Jane’ aims to begin shooting by early next year.
