Fassbender Set, Renner Up For “Counselor”

He was already linked but now he’s confirmed – Michael Fassbender will star in Ridley Scott’s thriller “The Counselor” based on a script by Cormac McCarthy reports Deadline.

Fassbender will play a respected lawyer who thinks he can dip a toe in to the drug business without getting sucked down. It is a bad decision and he tries his best to survive it and get out of a desperate situation.

Jeremy Renner, Bradley Cooper and Brad Pitt have all been mentioned as potentials to play the villain of the piece, a role suggested as being as iconic as Javier Bardem’s turn in the adaptation of McCarthy’s “No Country for Old Men”. Shooting is aiming to kick off on May 1st.
