IMAX Corp. and Universal Pictures have confirmed that the upcoming “Fast and Furious 6” will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX format and released in select IMAX theatres internationally starting May 22nd.
Meanwhile, Universal is reportedly working on not just a seventh installment, but a possible spin-off focusing on Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs character.
Johnson says the plan is to release the spin-off first: “That’s the goal. We continue to build that character and have him take shape. But yes, can’t wait.”
It has previously been reported that Jason Statham will play the villain in “Fast and Furious 7”.
