Disney isn’t the only one playing musical chairs with their slate this week as Fox have made some big announcements which essentially set up their Summer 2014 slate according to Box-Office Mojo.
It’s a line-up that will resemble last year’s in fact, kicking off with the newly titled “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”. The sequel to ‘Rise’, which grossed a whopping $ 483 million worldwide, will bow on Memorial Day Weekend – May 23rd 2014.
Then on July 18th 2014 comes the untitled “X-Men: First Class” sequel with director Matthew Vaughn and all of the original cast back onboard.
Long before that though are the films in 2013 and just announced yesterday is a 3D re-release of Roland Emmerich’s “Independence Day” for July 3rd 2013.
A month later the company will debut the sequel “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters” on August 16th, a not that surprising delay of five months for the Greek myth-themed fantasy.
Also for 2013 they’ve set the untitled Sandra Bullock & Melissa McCarthy comedy for April 4th, the “Walking with Dinosaurs” feature for December 20th, and the Ben Stiller-led “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” for December 25th.
