Foxx Might Be The U.S. President In “Down”

Jamie Foxx is being eyed to play the president of the United States in Roland Emmerich’s action drama “White House Down” at Sony Pictures says Variety.

Channing Tatum stars as a Secret Service agent who leaps into action to defend the president when a paramilitary group takes over the White House and holds everyone inside hostage. James Vanderbilt penned the script.

Foxx is reportedly intrigued by the presidential role, but negotiations haven’t begun as Foxx has yet to receive an actual offer. Emmerich, Vanderbilt, Bradley Fischer, Laeta Kalogridis and Harald Kloser will produce.

The project is moving faster than the similar, lower budget Antoine Fuqua-directed “White House Taken” at Millennium Films which Gerard Butler is attached to star in.
