James Franco is attached while Emma Roberts, Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez are all in talks to star in “Spring Breakers” says Variety.
The story follows four college girls who rob a restaurant to pay for their trip to the beach. Roberts would play a Southerner with a danger fetish, Gomez a religious girl, Franco will is a drug and arms dealer who bails them out of jail.
Despite the presence of the Disney stars, expect this to be a quite dark effort due to the presence of writer/director Harmony Korine (“Mister Lonely,” “Trash Humpers”) who is best known for writing Larry Clark’s controversial “Kids”.
David Zander, Chris Hanley, Charles-Marie Anthonioz and Jordan Gertner will produce with shooting set to take place during spring break in Florida.
