HBO is re-teaming with “The Sopranos” star James Gandolfini on the Antarctica-set darkly comic drama “Big Dead Place” at Deadline.
Gandolfini and “Breaking Bad” writer-producer Peter Gould will executive produce the series which will explore the fear and loathing, arrogance and insanity of the people living and working at McMurdo Station on the last untamed frontier on the planet.
The series is inspired by Nicholas Johnson’s memoir about his stint working for the U.S. Antarctic Program.
