“Gatsby,” “Hitchcock,” “Pain,” “Sin” Dates

Some key release and start-of-shooting date announcements have been made in the past day or two. Amongst them:

Fox Searchlight are shaking up the awards race, locking down a November 23rd release date for their Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren-led “Hitchcock” about the making of the famed filmmaker’s enduring classic “Psycho”. They’ve also released an awesome new poster.

Warners has settled on a new date for Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby” – May 10th 2013 in the United States with an international rollout beginning the following week. That puts it in the middle of one of the busiest months of the year, right between “Iron Man 3” on May 3rd, “Star Trek Into Darkness” on May 17th, and both “Fast Six” and “The Hangover 3” on May 24th.

Finally on the release date front, Paramount has dated Michael Bay’s bodybuilders caper comedy “Pain and Gain” for April 26th 2013.

Those aren’t the only dates to deal with today. Some rough start of shooting dates have also come to light via The Playlist.

First up Rosario Dawson says filming on the long overdue “Sin City: A Dame To Kill For” is finally going to happen “in November”. Then Channing Tatum says the Wachowski’s sci-fi epic “Jupiter Ascending” is aiming for a February start of production. Finally Emma Watson says shooting on the Guillermo Del Toro-produced retelling of “Beauty & The Beast” aims to get underway next summer.
