“Ghost Recon” Games Get A Film Adaptation

French game publisher Ubisoft is looking into developing a third film based on one of their game titles.

Not content with starting work on “Assassin’s Creed” and “Splinter Cell” films with the likes of Michael Fassbender and Tom Hardy respectively attached, the company is about to pitch a movie based on their Tom Clancy “Ghost Recon” series.

The games themselves follow a special operations military squad. Ubisoft Motion Pictures unit CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet says “We don’t want to make an average movie. We want to make a movie that will serve the brand and make happy the gamers and also the non-gamers. I think it has never been done before, but we can build this bridge.”

The company has also developed their Raving Rabbids games into a Nickelodeon animated series.
