Craig Gillespie (“Fright Night,” “Lars and the Real Girl”) has dropped out of directing the film adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” for Lionsgate reports Deadline.
An adaptation of the Seth Grahame-Smith novel, the story takes the 1813 Jane Austen classic and adds a legion of bloodthirsty zombies into the narrative.
Various directors and actresses have been attached to the project, only to walk away. David O. Russell was originally linked, then replaced by Mike White. When White left, Gillespie became attached.
The split with Gillespie is said to have been amicable.
