“Grace of Monaco” First Photo, TWC Deal

The Oscars may only just be over, but Harvey Weinstein is already lining up his plans for next year’s ceremony as he has begun assembling his awards slate for the end of this year.

The Weinstein Company is reportedly wrapping up a deal to acquire domestic rights to Olivier Dahan’s “Grace Of Monaco” which stars Nicole Kidman as actress-turned-princess Grace Kelly and Tim Roth as Monaco’s Prince Rainier III. You can see the first still from the film at The Playlist.

TWC is said to be paying a $ 5 million minimum guarantee and a P&A commitment of around $ 10 million for a minimum 800 screen run sometime in December.

This comes on top of the company’s acquisition this week of Justin Chadwick’s historical biopic “Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom” starring Idris Elba and Naomie Harris. The company also has the film adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize winning stage play “August: Osage County” due later this year.
