BAFTA-nominated Tom Harper (“Misfits,” “The Scouting Book for Boys”) is set to direct “The Woman in Black: Angel of Death”, the sequel to this year’s Gothic horror hit “The Woman in Black”, for Hammer Films says Screen Daily.
The action is set four decades later during World War II. Eel Marsh House is seized by the government and converted into a military mental hospital.
The sudden arrival of disturbed soldiers however awakes its darkest inhabitant, and it’s up to a beautiful young nurse to stop her patients from falling victim to the ghostly lady.
Jon Croker is penning the script, based on an original story by original ‘Woman’ author Susan Hill, while much of the production team from the first film will be back for the second.
Shooting is aiming to kick off next spring in the United Kingdom. Made for just $ 15 million, the first film has pulled in $ 130 million worldwide in box-office alone and scored generally good reviews.
