HBO is looking into an adaptation of Jonathan Franzen’s critically acclaimed novel “The Corrections” reports The Playlist.
Noah Baumbach (“The Squid and the Whale”) will be involved in the project about Enid Lambert, a woman whose husband Alfred has begun to succumb to Parkinson’s disease while her three now grown-up kids are each facing disasters in their own romantic lives and occupations.
Enid soon sets out to bring her family together for one last Christmas at home. Anthony Hopkins and Donald Sutherland are apparently both interested in the role of Alfred.
There’s been several attempts to adapt Franzen’s novel, one with Stephen Daldry attached to direct. As a result of this project, Baumbach’s long-gestating “While We’re Young” project looks to have been put on the back burner.
