Freddie Highmore (“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”) and Max Thieriot (“House at the End of the Street”) have joined A&E’s “Psycho”-prequel series “Bates Motel” says THR
Highmore has been tapped to star as the young Norman Bates in the series which explores Norman’s relationship with his mother Norma (Vera Farmiga) and offers a look at how he became the infamous serial killer of the Hitchcock classic.
Thieriot will play Dylan, Norma’s oldest son and Norman’s big brother. He’s described as a rebellious James Dean-type.
‘Bates’ is going straight to series and is slated to premiere next year.
