He successfully revived the “Star Trek” franchise, now J.J. Abrams has reportedly been set to direct “Star Wars: Episode VII” for Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm reports The Wrap.
The news is surprising as Abrams previously commented on the possibility and said he felt too intimidated by the material to properly tackle it.
Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy has also reportedly been courting Abrams for the director’s chair for a while. Neither Lucasfilm or Abrams reps would comment on the story.
