Jena Malone has entered talks to play the key role of Johanna Mason in “The Hunger Games” sequel “Catching Fire” says Heat Vision.
Various people were under consideration for the part, but Malone has the offer and has begun early negotiations for the role, scuttling reports from the other day that model Zoe Aggeliki was the front runner.
Mason is an ax-wielding former Hunger Games winner from District 7 who aligns herself with Katniss and Peeta in their return to the arena for an all-star death match.
Shooting aims to kick off in late September under the helm of Francis Lawrence.
