Two film adaptations of stage musicals have just dealt with the issue of who will take the helm of each project reports Deadline.
First up, Jon Favreau is confirmed to in negotiations to direct the film version of the Frankie Valli-themed musical “Jersey Boys”. John Logan penned the most recent draft.
Favreau has been in the running for some time, however now it appears to be official.
Meanwhile Universal is after Stephen Daldry (“The Hours,” “The Reader”) to direct the film version of “Wicked”, the musical which serves as a “Wizard of Oz” prequel.
