Joel Edgerton, Cormac McCarthy Sell Scripts

Aussie actor Joel Edgerton (“Warrior,” “The Thing”) has sold the dramedy spec script “One Night Stand” to New Regency says The Hollywood Reporter.

The story is described as an honest look at a man and a woman in the aftermath of a one night stand. Edgerton is not attached to star but will executive produce. Regency will start meeting with directors in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, “No Country For Old Men” and “The Road” author Cormac McCarthy has sold his first spec screenplay “The Counselor” to producers Nick Wechsler, Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz reports Deadline.

The story follows a respected lawyer who thinks he can dip a toe into the drug business without getting pulled in, a decision he tries his best to survive. The group are now looking for a filmmaker as they talk to financiers.
