Though he’s still caught up in his legal issues, “Die Hard” director John McTiernan looks set to exploit his window of opportunity this Fall to shoot an action film that’s been hanging around the last couple of years reports The Wrap.
Evan Daugherty (“Snow White and the Huntsman”) penned “Shrapnel” which has been described as a “mano-a-mano duel between an American soldier and his former Bosnian adversary in the wilds of the Rockies.” There’s been some changes since the script first emerged on the 2008 Black List, most notably the era in which it is set.
Now though, Belgian film fund Corsan (“The Devil’s Double”) is potentially providing financing while McTiernan is reportedly already scouting locations in Canada.
“Face/Off” duo Nicolas Cage and John Travolta have both been linked with the project, but reps for Cage say he’s dropped out of the picture. The film itself still seems far from a sure thing.
