KHHHAAANN!!!…Wait, Who Is This?

So is it Khan or isn’t it?

The debate over whether Khan Noonien Singh will be the villain in the upcoming “Star Trek” sequel took another turn today after ‘Scotty’ himself, actor Simon Pegg, flatly denied the claims in an interview with The Telegraph.

“It’s not Khan. That’s a myth. Everyone’s saying it is, but it’s not. I think people just want to have a scoop. It annoys me – it’s beyond the point to just ferret around for spoilers all the time to try to be the first to break them.

It just spoils the film. It masquerades as interest in the movie but really it’s just nosiness and impatience. You just want to say, ‘Oh f— off! Wait for the film.'”

Rumors have swirled of Khan’s involvement since the film was announced. When “Sherlock” star Benedict Cumberbatch won the role of the film’s villain, an actor who is physically the complete opposite of the character, doubts crept in.

Then a report on AICN a few weeks ago claimed Cumberbatch was indeed playing Khan after all. A story that Pegg’s quote now discredits.

So who is Cumberbatch playing? Of that Pegg only says he’s “not just another disgruntled alien. It’s a really interesting… sort of… thing… Obviously I can’t talk about it.”
