Kitsch, Hammer, Hedlund Are “Catching Fire”?

Taylor Kitsch (“John Carter”), Armie Hammer (“The Social Network”), and Garrett Hedlund (“Tron Legacy”) are all reportedly vying to play the role of Finnick Odair in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” at Lionsgate reports E! News.

In the books, Odair is a handsome and tan 24-year-old from District 4 who won the annual Hunger Games ten years earlier armed with a trident and a net. He’s known for having many lovers around the Capitol.

With the film’s production being rushed forward, an announcement for the role could come as early as this week. None of the actor’s reps have commented on the story, while a Lionsgate rep only says “As with the first film, we won’t be confirming, denying or commenting on any casting rumors for this title. We will announce news wide when there is official casting news to announce.”

The role is the same one that “Twilight” actor Robert Pattinson was linked to the other week, an online rumor the actor flatly denied. Shooting on ‘Fire’ is slated to begin in the Fall.
