Keira Knightley is the front runner, while Felicity Jones (“Like Crazy”) and Evangeline Lily (“Lost”) are also in the mix for the role of Cathy Muller, the future wife to be of Jack Ryan, in Paramount’s upcoming reboot of that franchise says Deadline.
This time out Chris Pine plays the young CIA analyst from Tom Clancy’s novels who has appeared in four previous films from “The Hunt for Red October” through to “The Sum of All Fears”.
Kenneth Branagh is directing and playing the villain in the reboot. Both Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel were also up for the role of Cathy but are no longer in the running.
Anne Archer played Cathy in two of the previous films, Gates McFadden and Bridget Moynahan played her in one each. Whomever is cast will be under option to play the role in potentially three films.
