“Kon-Tiki” Duo Set To Go “Spectral”

On the day their film “Kon-Tiki” scored an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film, Norwegian directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg are close to a deal to direct the spooky action thriller “Spectral” for Legendary Pictures.

A potential franchise launcher, the film is described as “a supernatural ‘Black Hawk Down'”. Roenning and Sandberg shot “Kon-Tiki” for just $ 15 million, but the film looks considerably more expensive than that which has made them sought after talents.

Ian Fried penned the original treatment which Jayson Rothwell recently re-wrote. Shooting aims to get underway later this year.
