Lee, Tee, Sanada Join “The Wolverine”

Casting is coming together for James Mangold’s upcoming “The Wolverine” with SuperHeroHype, THR and Variety scoring a couple of new names to be added to the supporting cast of the Japan-set feature.

Joining returning champ Hugh Jackman as the famed mutant are two villains. The first is Will Yun Lee (“Hawaii Five-O”) as Harada, aka. The Silver Samurai – a crime lord’s illegitimate son with an electrified suit of armor.

The other is Brian Tee (“Grimm”) as Noburo Mori, a corrupt justice minister about to marry the crime lord’s daughter (who is Logan’s love interest).

Also onboard are Hiroyuki Sanada (“Lost,” “The Last Samurai”) as Shingen, Hal Yamanouchi (“Push”) as Yashida, and Tao Okamoto and Rila Fukushima as Mariko and Yukio respectively.

The story is based on an acclaimed Marvel comic storyline in which Logan winds up in Japan where he confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.

Filming kicks off shortly in Australia and Japan.
