“Mad Max” Swaps 3D For Conversion

George Miller appears to have scrapped plans to shoot the upcoming fourth “Mad Max” film, “Mad Max: Fury Road”, in 3D. Instead, the film will now be converted to 3D in the post-production process
reports Inside Film.

After many delays, filming has finally gotten underway in Namibia with Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron.

Miller was said to have been developing new 3D cameras and rigs for the shoot, but there has been a lot of concern that an untried system could not withstand tough desert conditions and the film’s extensive stunt work.

As a result it looks like those rigs are out and the conversion process will be utilised instead. The legend that is cinematographer John Seale will instead be using numerous Arri Alexa, Canon 5D and Olympus P5 cameras on the shoot.
